How to: Shop at Flea Markets

It is crucial to plan your day ahead if you want to have a great time at the flea market. Start out with the right attire for the day. It is good if you can bring along a trolley. Do not get caught spending the day carrying around the items you purchased by bringing along a cart or a trolley.

You will have to end the day early if you have tired feet due to unsuitable walking shoes. Starting your visit from the very end of the vendors and working your way forward is a good strategy to avoid getting tired early. The crowd is thinner at the back which provides easy access to items to be purchased. You can treat yourself to both weekend as well as weekday flea markets. It is natural for the number of vendors to get less as buying activity dies down during the week. You can never know for sure when is the best time of day to obtain the best price deal. It is normal to bargain for the best price.

If you arrive early in the morning, you can select from the best goods before anyone else have a chance. This is the best solution if there are particular items you are interested in finding. But be prepared to pay a higher price in you shop in the morning.

The end of the day, vendors will be lenient towards prices as they wish to sell off whatever that is still remaining. Vendors would prefer go home with a heavy pocket than with a heavy load of merchandise. Sometimes it is good to wait at the end of the day to get a lower price. But you could lose the item to someone else.

There are many ways to negotiate for an item. Ask the vendor the lowest price they will take. See if they could find the price you are offering to be acceptable. It is good if you hold the money in your hand when bargaining, they often find it hard to let you walk away without taking it away from you at the price you had asked.
